“Trick ‘r Treat” sequel announced!

"Trick 'r Treat"

“Trick ‘r Treat”

During a screening of the 2007 cult genre hit Trick ‘r Treat in Hollywood, and live-streaming on the internet, writer/director Michael Dougherty held a Q&A with the audience. During this Q&A, Dougherty and the cult-classic anthology’s mascot “Sam” revealed to the audience, and the world, plans for a sequel. Dougherty plans to return helming the project while Brian Singer also plans to return in his producer role. No news as to a cast or story details for the follow-up anthology, so expect those to be rolling out as time goes on.

The anthology film followed inter-woven stories of murder, werewolves, and more all taking place in one town on Halloween night. The films stories all connect with another small story involving the films masked-mascot, Sam. In the vein of Tales From The Crypt, the movie combined horror and comedy to keep its audience bouncing back and forth on the spectrum of emotion thoughout. While the movie virtually didn’t have a theatrical run, it picked up a cult following in it’s DVD release and is now a staple of many Halloween movie marathons.

Trick ‘r Treat is available on DVD and Blu-Ray from Legendary Pictures. For more news on Trick ‘r Treat 2, Michael Dougherty and Bryan Singer, stop by DiaboliqueMagazine.com.
