This year marks the 40th anniverary of Tobe Hopper’s 1974 classic, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and in honor of the film–and its legacy, spawning numerous sequels, remakes and imitations–Diabolique has compiled this short list of ways that you can celebrate the bloody classic.

First, Fright-Rags, in an never-ending pursuit to grace the world with some of the best horror apparel on the market, have five new TCM-inspired t-shirts available for pre-order (ending this Friday). For the shirt-line, Fright-Rags have commissioned five artists (Godmachine, Jason Edmiston, Justin Osbourn, Abrar Ajmal and Jeff Zornow) to produce original Leatherface inspired designs, which can be viewed below.

All five designs are available on both unisex and girls shirts, but each one is limited to 500 pieces. Pre-orders have launched on These designs will be available until 10am EST on Friday, May 16. Due to the limited nature of the products, they may sell out before the pre-order period ends. Orders are expected to ship in late-June.

Not in the market for a new t-shirt? Well, there are a few other ways to celebrate the film. New Line Cinema and Warner Home Video have announced a brand new 40th Anniversary Blu-Ray addition of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, slated for release October 1st. While the details are still undisclosed, we can only hope it will become the most definitive version on the market.

Finally, in light of the brand new restoration, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre will see a limited theatrical re-release this summer. Word has surfaced that the exhaustive process has yielded excellent results, and we can’t wait to see what is in store. Quoted from the official press release, Tobe Hopper has expressed this of the restoration:

I haven’t seen The Texas Chainsaw Massacre on the big screen for many, many years. This 40th anniversary restoration is absolutely the best the film has ever looked. The color and clarity is spectacular, displaying visual details in the film that were never before perceptible. The newly remastered 7.1 soundtrack breathes new life and energy into the film. I am very much looking forward to audiences experiencing this film as they never have before.”

While dates haven’t been released, Housecore Horror Fest has announced that they will be screening the film with a full cast reunion, marking the first time the entire cast will watch the film together,
