Romero Bringing ‘Empire of the Dead’ To TV

Some good news coming our way from Cannes, as reports have surfaced that George Romero is slated to bring his Marvel comic franchise Empire of the Dead to the small screen. Demarest, whose latest project was Kevin Smith’s Tusk, will be money behind this endevour.

Not a ton of information on this one yet but what is known is that Romero and long time producer Peter Grunwald will both write and  produce the series.  The comic book series has run for 15 issues, or I should say will run for 15 issues, with the finale of the comic coming out this August.  If you haven’t picked up the comic it’s an interesting blend of zombies and vampires with Romero taking his zombie mythos in a whole new direction.  Could make for an interesting TV show – we’ll see were this one leads.
