Dear Friends, Fans, and Supporters of Diabolique:
Creating and releasing each new issue of Diabolique has been a weird and wonderful journey not without its ups and downs. As anyone in the publishing industry, and especially its genre journalism niche, can attest, it’s a minor miracle whenever each new issue is printed and reaches stands into the hands of those for whom it’s tailor-made. While Diabolique has continued to make strides in expanding into multimedia production and other avenues of genre arts and entertainment, we have decided that our flagship publication will be put on a hiatus, in favor of developing and expanding our web platform.
We believe that the brand is uniquely positioned to focus on our growing web presence, and build upon the partnerships we have established to break new ground in other new and exciting areas of content creation. We look forward to delivering more of the distinctive content Diabolique has become known for within the genre world on these terms, and we can’t wait for you to see what lies ahead.
In other news, our magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Max Weinstein, and Managing Editor, Joe Yanick, are moving on to exciting new chapters in their careers. Max will be heading to Los Angeles as Associate Editor of MovieMaker Magazine in July, and Joe is now focusing on new projects while continuing his work as Festival Coordinator of Visit Films. We are proud of what they built with us and our continuing team wishes them the best of luck going forward.
None of this is to say that Diabolique’s print edition will ‘never again’ return. This has always been a blood, sweat, and tears operation and we will leave the door open for any and all future possibilities, should they arise. For now, though, we ask that all of you who’ve stuck with us stick around for more chills and thrills online and in other platforms, as our new Editor-in-Chief and Associate Editor, Kat Ellinger and Samm Deighan, respectively, continue to promote our ongoing mission.
Thank you all for the tremendous support and feedback we have received over the years. We’ve never stopped being humbled by the overwhelmingly positive reception of our little genre mag that could. We came to, as our masthead always said, “Engage your heart, your mind, and your taste for terror.” We hope our magazine honored that aim, and we promise to continue to honor it as we move forward.
The Diabolique Team
